I tried a few different yoga studios before I came across Isha 5 years ago. I decided Yoga wasn't doing anything for me. It didn’t help my back pain from long hours of office work and I found it boring as a sport. Later when I was struggling as a working mother of two children for more energy and balance, I turned to meditation. The result after a short time surprised me. I was hoping to gain more inner peace through meditation, which I experienced right after the first session. Soon after that, I noticed that meditation actually brought me more energy as well.

Later when I came across Isha I learned that Isha Yoga, as a classical hatha yoga, is seen and practiced as a dynamic meditation and preparation for deeper meditation. I liked the approach. To just sit still and meditate is not easy. The body needs to be prepared. First I learned Surya Kriya in a workshop and then practiced it daily at home. The first result was sensational. I experienced immediately that this is something totally different from my previous “yoga experience”. This is a journey into oneself. After four weeks my back pain was gone. I felt fitter, emotionally more balanced and energetic in my daily life. The fact that I was able to practice independently at home was a big plus for a working mom, as it actually saved lot of money and time. Getting up half an hour earlier every morning was rewarded by more energy and balance through the whole day.

Motivated by the overwhelming positive experience, I enrolled for all other Isha Programs one after another. They are all unique, designed with different focuses and benefits. At that point, it became no longer about the back pain. The meditative quality of Isha Yoga practices led to physical and mental balance as well as clarity of the mind. The way I think, feel and experience life has changed. I quit the job that I had been doing for years without much interest other than making a living. I gained a new professional qualification as an Integrative Health and Nutrition Consultant (International Institute of Naturopathy in Switzerland) in 2016 and I completed my Isha Hatha Yoga Training in 2017 which is over 1750 hour course. I am happy and grateful for who I am and where I am, feeling energy, joy and love. That’s the power of yoga. It has transformed my life. Just like Sadhguru said “Just keep practicing. Everything else will come.”

I wish to bring Isha Hatha Yoga in its full depth and profundity to as many people as possible so that they can also experience yoga as the life-transforming tool as I have experienced it and as it was always meant to be.
